"I don't do it!"...Mourinho gets 4-game suspension for swearing at referee→Quits UEFA job 'in 24 hours'

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has resigned from his position on the UEFA football committee after being disciplined.

"After receiving a four-match ban from UEFA, Mourinho resigned from the UEFA football committee just 24 hours later," German media outlet Sport1 reported on April 23 (KST).

The UEFA Football Committee was established in April to protect soccer. In addition to Mourinho, the organization includes a number of prominent figures in the world of soccer, including Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and Gareth Bale.

Jürgen Klinsmann, the head coach of the South Korean national soccer team, is also reportedly a member of the UEFA football committee.

The committee usually meets about once a year to discuss soccer rules and youth soccer development, but Mourinho has stepped down, saying he no longer wants to be on the committee.

"Mourinho has communicated his intention to resign via email to UEFA Football Committee President Zvonimir Boban," the outlet explained.

"In justifying his resignation, Mourinho asked at the end of the email to 'convey my decision to UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin,'" it added. 안전놀이터

Many fans have speculated that Mourinho's sudden departure from the committee was due to his frustration with the recent punishment he received from UEFA.

UEFA announced in a statement on April 22 that it had handed Mourinho a four-match suspension. The offense stemmed from the 2022/23 Europa League final, which took place the previous day.

Roma were playing Sevilla for the Europa League title at the Puskás Stadium in Budapest, Hungary. After 120 minutes of action, including extra time, the score remained 1-1 and the teams went to penalty kicks. After the penalty shootout, Sevilla won the title.
